Heyooo, fellow lunatics!
We’ve got some great news to share: Remnants, a short horror film we co-wrote, is now available to watch online for free. Fans of the genre especially seem to dig how the flick celebrates the use of old-school practical effects, as highlighted in some incredibly nice write-ups in Brutal As Hell and Dread Central.
The 16-minute movie, a modern detective story brimming with dread and violence, is also set to premiere on the big screen Dec. 18 at FilmBar in Phoenix. You can watch it in advance now, but don’t tell anyone. (Kidding, of course — please share it with everyone except those who are faint of heart.)
It’s worth noting there’s plenty of adult language and gore, in case you have kiddos around. Check it out:
Remnants follows two homicide detectives and a medical examiner who investigate the worst crime scene in a suburban neighborhood’s history. Among the remains of a butchered family, the detectives find evidence of a crime so horrific that remnants of an unspeakable evil still lurk in the home.
The short is directed by David Ugarte (Hell of a Deal, Fifty-Two, The Crate). It stars Hugh McCrae Jr. (Girl in the Box, Check Please), Terrance Roundtree (Stealing Sunrise), Tonya Adamski (CUPIC: Diary of an Investigator), Reavis Dorsey (Hell of a Deal, Fifty-Two) and Karlie O’Hearn (Controlled Minds, The Voice That Was Louder Than Before). The film was written by yours truly, La Fuente and The Schube (please check out our other films).
By the way, a high-res version of the poster is available here.
We’re excited to hear what you think of the movie, so please feel free to let us know in the comments below. Stay tuned for more info, and thanks for your support!
